Chopper Spins Out of Control into Palm Fronds at Well-Known Southern California Coast
A chopper hovering near a popular California shoreline abruptly commenced twirling out of control, ultimately losing altitude and smashing into a row of palm trees as beachgoers looked on.
Recordings uploaded on social media show the chopper beginning to twirl above Huntington Beach then falling in the direction of the edge of the beach, where it gets stuck among palm groves and a steps near the Pacific Coast highway.
Emergency Response Details
Emergency responders said five persons were taken to hospital including two individuals who were in the aircraft and were “extracted safely from the crash site” after the accident on that day.
Three persons on the road were hurt. Specifics on their condition were not yet released.
The reason for the accident was still under investigation.

Authorities said the aircraft was linked to an annual “Cars N Copters” benefit occasion planned for Sunday.
